A Travellerspoint blog

overcast 10 °C

Haha first post on this blog!

When I think about the first idea to take the road to India, just some weeks ago in Montreal, while i was speaking with a friend, sharing dreams of freedom, i knew suddently that i couldn't wait one more year to fulfill this childhood dream, it finally became so real!

What a mixture of feelings! just some days before departure, i can feel a bit affraid, lot of euphoria, but more than anything else i can feel that i could not have prepared better experience for this summer!

Yeah i will leave france on the 18th, aim is to reach India and spend at least one month over there. First part of the trip accross Europe will be with Guillaume from Strasbourg, via hitch hicking and camping! We will cross Swiss, a bit of Germany, austria, slovenia, croatia, hungary, rumania, bulgaria and finally we will arrive in Istanbul, Turkey.
On the second part of the trip we plan to use public transports , we will cross Turkey mostly by feet, passing by the North coast, and then going down to Van from Trabzon. Then im going to cross Iran by myself, i would like to spend some time over there, this country seems so fascinating!
Finally I will take a boat to Dubai, wait for a plane in this crazy city, which will lead me to Jaipur, India! And then start a whole period of travelling by train all around the subcontinent, there are so many places to see =:D

I want morethan anything else meet people all along the way, discover new ways of living, of interfering with our world.
Travelling is for me one the best way to lean who i am, how i understand the life around me, just by sharing with people i will meet on the way, taking time on the road for thinking forgetting all the daily stuff, living unusual experiences....
I guess when we come back from such a trip, our vision of reality or relations should be so different.

So here i stop those common remarks!
Yeah for the moment its such a mess, i got insurance, visas...: and am preparing all the boring stuff, but im preparing aso all the equipment: have to repair some very old scout stuff as backpck with only one metal stick on the back, assembling plates and testing the stoves.
Even if i try to reduce a maximum the weight of my backback, i will travel with my new jaw harp, with alexandra david neel, and a camera with 2 memory cards, at least some pen and a notebook :D

So here is a long enough post, but i would like to give a special thank to all people that helped me to make this dream become true, with their moral support, their help (money, equipment, or accomodation). Great thank to my family who is really worry but help me so much as well, and special thank to yannick without who i gues i would never have left!

So i go packing, i will write on this blog as often as i can! Could be difficult to write on a regular basis in Europe, due to our way of moving, but in every city i will cross in turkey, iran or india, there are cyber cafe!
